Israel's wine industry finds its roots in Biblical times already. The modern wine industry began during the 19th century, and went through a renaissance in the 80's of the 20th century. Today the wine industry features over 300 wineries, with vineyards spread out from the Negev Desert to the Galilee and the Golan Heights. A wine tour follows local wine routes in different parts of the country. During a tour you'll visit 2-3 wineries, typical to a region, alongside sites included in Israel's agro tourism industry. The tour will also include sites of archeological nature, referring to wine making in ancient times (especially Roman and Byzantine periods). There are 5 regions to choose from: Carmel, Galilee, Golan Heights, Judean Hills, Negev. Cheers! and Lechaim!
